A Journey of Faith in Haatso

DGM-Peniel Assembly, Haatso, was founded in 1998 in the room of Rev. Asante Botwe, who was an elder of the church then. It began with prayer meetings involving the pastor’s family after a send-off from the A.O. branch of DGM by Rev. Edward Frempong (now General Apostle Edward Frempong) and a few dedicated converts, including Brother Yaw Agyei, Sister Mabel Owusua, Elder Daniel Adotey, Sister Clara Amarh, and Brother Daniel Gyan and their families. Over the years, the congregation met in several locations—Amazing Faith School, Rev. Botwe’s landlord’s house, the pastor’s home, and even Haatso Market—before securing their permanent location. Elder Dr. Samuel Darkwah and Elder Gabriel Mawusi (now Rev. Gabriel Mawusi, founder of Faith Power Ministry) joined the Haatso branch of DGM when we were worshiping at the top of the Haatso market. Through the wise counsel of the late Rev. Richard Owusu, the church was guided in making the right decisions at every stage of the process. The permanent location was made possible through the steady and sacrificial weekly contributions of all the faithful members who gave consistently from their hearts, as was the advice of the late Rev. Richard Owusu. Their combined efforts, prayers, and commitment led to the successful acquisition of the land—making it clear that the property was not purchased by any single individual, but rather through the unified support of the entire church community. The branch has withstood many trials but continues to thrive by God’s grace.
